Two for the Big Blue: Both boys and girls win track and field championships!

The Phillips Academy Boy's and Girl's track teams each won the New England Prep School Division 1 Track chamionships held at Deerfield Academy on Saturday. The boy's team scored 98 points to finish 1st in a 12-team field. Loomis Chaffee was 2nd with 88 points. It was the boy's 2nd title in a row and they won it in dramatic fashion. With only three events remaining, the boys were in third place. Clutch performances in the triple jump sealed the win. Senior captain Malcom Mason Rodriguez won two events and scored a team-high 29 points. The girl's team rolled up 150.33 points to finish 1st of 11 teams and win their fourth consecutive title. In the last 10 years, no team has ever scored more team points! Phillips Exeter was 2nd with 113. Alexis Walker and Chioma Ngwudo led the girl's team with a strong supporting cast. Ngwudo won two events. Diana Tchadi broke the junior class record in the 300IH. The 4x400m relay team consisting of Shannon Adams, Rebecca Wagman, Tafarii McKenzie and Jasmine Edison were .02 second from breaking the school record. The 4x100m relay team consisting of Diana Tchadi, Rebecca Wagman, Aniebiet Abasi, and Alexis Walker started the track events by winning the race and breaking the NEPSTA record and school record with a time of 49.50 Article from the Phillips Academy website
