Northfield Mount Hermon Boys Soccer 11/22/21

Congrats to the Northfield Mount Hermon Boys Varsity Soccer team who brought home the New England Championship trophy this past Sunday, November 21st! The #3 seeded NMH battled #1 seeded Taft at host Loomis Chaffee for the 11:00 matchup. After a 1-1 draw, it went to penalty kicks and NMH outlasted Taft to take home the NEPSAC Class A Title.

#3 NMH beat #6 Bridgton Academy 3-0 on Wednesday, November 17th in the Quarterfinal round, then went on to beat #2 Worcester Academy 1-0 in double overtime on Saturday, November 20th in the Semifinal round.

Co-head coach Charlie Malcolm describes the tournament and regular season here here:

“NMH secured their seventh New England title by being an incredible road team. Over the course of the season, NMH went 8-1-1 against the top ten Class A teams in New England, and not one match was played at home. It was this ability to dig deep that allowed the Hoggers to win back-to-back double-overtime games against two previously undefeated teams, Worcester Academy and Taft. Two busloads of NMH students and hundreds of NMH alumni converged on Loomis for the Championship to make our last contest a home game.”
