After a record-breaking season, Gatorade today announced that Jackson Paradis is the 2021-22 Gatorade New Hampshire Football Player of the Year. Paradis becomes the fourth student-athlete from Tilton School, and the first football player, to be named a Gatorade Player of the Year, joining Olivia Orlando ’17 (girls basketball), Terrance Mann ’15 (boys basketball), and Alex Oriahki ’09 (boys basketball).

In a press release, Gatorade described the award as one “which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field. Now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Football Player of the Year award to be announced in December, Paradis joins an elite alumni association of state award-winners, including Emmitt Smith (1986-87, Escambia High School, Fla.), Matthew Stafford (2005-06, Highland Park High School, Texas) and Christian McCaffrey (2012-13 & 2013-14, Valor Christian High School, Colo.).”

Paradis, who was also recently named the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Football Player of the Year, led the Rams to a 6-3 record and an appearance in a NEPSAC Bowl Game for the first time since 2016. He racked up 1,851 rushing yards and 22 scores, averaging 10.2 yards per carry in the process and reaching the 200-yard mark five different times in his nine games. Next week, Paradis will sign a National Letter of Intent to continue his athletic and academic career next fall at the University of Buffalo.
